AUM2

1 Carbon dioxide equivalent or CO₂ equivalent is a metric measure used to compare the emissions from various greenhouse gases on the basis of their global-warming potential (GWP), by converting amounts of other gases to the equivalent amount of carbon dioxide with the same global warming potential. 2019-2024 cumulative emissions are calendar year and prepared internally in consultation with our portfolio companies. Finalized in July 2024.2AUM defined as committed capital.

How we drive value and impact

CI believes that delivering impact at a global scale requires both innovation and market adoption. This is why we invest in innovative companies and why we drive their solutions’ deployment through our global partner networks.

Our investment decisions are determined by the value creation and impact potential of each opportunity.

Each fund has a return and impact target. We believe financial success and GHG-impact must go hand in hand if innovations are to succeed. To help us identify impactful opportunities, in 2019 we co-developed a methodology that is aligned with Project Frame1 to estimate forward impact. Opportunities are screened against CI’s methodologies to evaluate opportunities impact. Post-investment, we share our approach with our investees and support its integration within their operations. Annually, we collect their impact data which is then reviewed by an independent third-party and published at a portfolio level.

1 Project Frame is a third-party, collaborative platform seeking to introduce a common framework for assessing the future GHG impact of investments. Visit www.projectframe.how to find out more.

Where we invest

We are in the early stages of a global Climate Transition – reshaping energy, industry, construction, and transport.

CI invests in companies leading this shift, focusing on high-emission sectors that contribute over 65% of global GHGs1 but receive less than 25% of innovation capital2. We target underserved “white spaces” with scalable solutions that deliver strong, measurable GHG impact and attractive risk-adjusted returns.

Our model combines venture to growth equity capital with deep industry partnerships to accelerate market adoption. We believe capital-efficient innovation is key to industrial decarbonization.

With support from 16 blue-chip investors and a broad industrial network, we identify opportunity gaps and continuously refine our approach. Our Portfolio Company Value Creation process ensures insights from across sectors feed back into our investment strategy—driving cross-sector innovation and long-term impact.
